The Goleta City Council voted to implement two new smoking ordinances (one related to the sale of tobacco products, the other to secondhand smoke), which will go into effect in June. The ordinances, discussed earlier this month, are meant to prevent sales to minors (including vaporizing products like e-cigarettes) and to ban smoking in public places and recreational areas. The county will tackle enforcement of sales; signs will alert citizens about the secondhand-smoke rules.
