The Goleta Planning Commission looked at the first of three parts of the city’s planned zoning ordinance, which would replace county regulations adopted upon incorporation. Monday’s meeting focused on the first module, including project application procedures, permit types, and the public hearing process. Concerns included the scope of power of a proposed zoning administrator and how to notify residents of meetings. Commission hearings on the other two modules will occur in the next couple of months; the commission and City Council have to review and approve the ordinance.
