The move won’t be far for Genie Wilson, the current treasury manager for the City of Santa Barbara, who will become the finance director for the City of Goleta starting on January 7. Wilson will take over the post vacated in April by former director Tina Rivera. Wilson, a certified public accountant, holds a degree from California State University, Fullerton and also previously served as the chief financial officer for the City of Temecula. Goleta City Manager Michelle Greene said city officials are “delighted” with Wilson’s hiring. “Her extensive experience in municipal government and auditing is a great match for our young city,” Greene said.
