SANTA BARBARA, CA – (April 16, 2014) – PMSM Architects is pleased to announce Monisha Adnani as Associate of the firm.

As a licensed architect in the state of California and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (BD +C), Adnani has vast experience in designing a wide variety of projects of all sizes and complexities. Although Adnani is experienced in all areas of architectural design, she specializes in designing performing arts facilities, historic building renovations, and university/college projects. Due to her expertise, she serves as Director of the firm’s Performing Arts and Higher Education Design Studios.

In her role as Associate, Adnani will continue to provide valuable input and leadership for the day-to-day direction of the firm. She will directly oversee the firm’s design quality, project delivery, and mentoring of staff in the Santa Barbara office. She continues to inspire and lead clients through the design and construction process by stretching the firm’s boundaries to generate creative, sustainable design solutions. In addition, Adnani possesses work ethic deeply rooted in value-added design, client-driven solutions, and collaborative working relationships with staff, clients, and contractors.

One of Adnani’s passions is restoring historic theaters and performance venues. She has traveled throughout the United States and internationally to visit historic theaters and takes great pride in restoring these treasured landmarks by giving them a new lease on life. Adnani is also committed to creating and improving dynamic learning environments for school districts, colleges, and universities. Most recently she has worked on projects at Cuesta College, University of California Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College, Crafton Hills College, Rio Hondo College, and College of the Desert.

Her design skill and expertise has resulted in multiple awards of recognition for novelty and excellence in architectural design. Adnani’s work on the Granada Theatre renovation earned the President’s Award from Santa Barbara Beautiful in 2008 and her work on Hahn Hall landed the facility the “Winner” title for the Santa Barbara Contractors Association’s Commercial Remodel category (more than $1 million).

Adnani earned a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver, and received a Bachelor of Architecture from LS Raheja School of Architecture in Bombay, India. She has been with PMSM Architects for more than 13 years and currently lives with her husband in Santa Barbara.
