“With 78 beachfront acres, onsite nature trails and one of the largest luxury spas on the West Coast, Bacara offers the ideal setting for a weeklong wellness retreat,” said Kathleen Cochran, general manager of Bacara Resort & Spa. “We are thrilled to partner with Sky Ranch on a program that not only delivers results, but is enjoyable.”

Designed by a panel of specialists in the disciplines of fitness, nutrition and physiology, the weeklong program is underscored by an emphasis on personalized instruction wherein guests learn about food selection, pairing and preparation, in addition to biomechanics and stress management.

Weight-loss results are achieved through a combination of scenic daily hikes through the Gaviota and Santa Ynez mountains, and alternating sessions of interval training, yoga, TRX and strength training sessions. This demanding fitness regimen is complemented by nutritious, healthful cuisine co-designed by nutritionist Nancy Dale and acclaimed Bacara chef David Reardon. Seaside stretch classes, restorative spa treatments and Bacara’s luxurious accommodations round out the physical demands of the program to facilitate personal rejuvenation.

Throughout the retreat, guests have the unique opportunity to explore many of Santa Barbara’s favored locales including dinner at The Lark, wine tasting at Foley Winery and a harbor sunset cruise. “We wanted to create a memorable vacation experience for our guests,” explains Stuart. “By empowering guests with the tools to make healthy choices, they can experience some of Santa Barbara’s best features without compromising their wellness goals.”

Retreats begin April 2014. For reservations or additional information, please call Sky Ranch Fitness at 805.252.1498 or visit skyranchfitness.com.
