Santa, Barbara, CA – Porsche Car Club of America – Santa Barbara Region selected Gold Coast Veterans Foundation as their annual primary charity in September 2013 and has donated more than $6,000 to provide services to local veterans in Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo counties.

The Foundation operates the “Veterans Connection” in Camarillo, CA to bring services and programs to veterans. The Porsche Club has several members that are veterans or have family members that served in the military. The car lovers group wanted to support the men and women that served in our nation’s defense forces. They held several fundraising events on behalf of veterans since October, 2013.

The first event was a raffle at the Concours d’Elegance car show event held in Santa Barbara in October 2013. One hundred percent of raffle proceeds collected were donated to Gold Coast Veterans Foundation at the event. In November and January, through the generosity of the club’s members, they collected several thousand more dollars as a result of driving event proceeds and raised additional funds during a silent auction at their Holiday Brunch in December.

At a special club event in February, Doreen Pankow, president Posche Club of America – Santa Barbara Region presented Ron Greenwood, President of Gold Coast Veterans Foundation, with a check for $5,000. Mr. Greenwood said Gold Coast Veterans Foundation will use the funds to connect veterans to the services, programs and opportunities they deserve. Call (805) 482-6550 or visit the GoldCoastVeteransFoundation.org website to learn more about their veteran services.
