Riffing on comments that the only way to get folks off welfare is to make working pay.

Oh how I love supply and demand

Although it can be hard to understand —

Workers can’t work unless some invest,

Not investing is a self-sufficiency test —

We all fall like hourglass sand.

With a flip of a hand,

We tumble and land,

In the lap of our pest.

I love supply and demand!

Greed comes in all brands

And pulls at all hands,

Never takes a rest,

Battles for what’s best

Through the law of the land —

Supply and demand.
