Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital Foundation (SYVCHF) held its second annual Heritage Circle event recently at the historic Mendenhall Museum of Gasoline Pumps & Petroliana in Buellton. Heritage Circle members include current and past directors of SYVCH Foundation, the original Santa Ynez Valley Healthcare Foundation and the original Santa Ynez Valley Hospital, Inc. board, as well as past presidents of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Auxiliary’s original 1962 Charter members.

According to SYVCHF Board President Charles “C.J.” Jackson, “Our Heritage Circle group totals more than 80 members and was formed in 2012 to acknowledge and thank those volunteers who have served in governance roles in support of our wonderful community hospital. Annually, we host an event to gratefully acknowledge them for their service and provide updates on hospital activities in. This year’s reception and tri-tip barbeque dinner at the Mendenhall Museum provided a unique backdrop to honor this group.”

Attended by more than sixty guests and SYVCH managers, presentations were made by Wende Cappetta, Vice President, SYVCH; Charles “C.J.” Jackson, Board President, SYVCHF; and Ron Werft, President and CEO of Cottage Health System. Cappetta stated, “Thank you all for your many years of service to the hospital. So many milestones have been achieved since the hospitals opening in 1964, such as the recent addition of our own full-time MRI services. Our hospital has continued to grow and meet the needs of our community because of the dedication and perseverance by the Hospital Foundation Board and our Hospital Auxiliary. Thank you for your ongoing support.”
