RECRUITEDFORCOLLEGE.COM

Building a Network for Students, Educators, and Universities

Santa Barbara High School senior Brian Wheeler believes that students are more than just a grade point average (GPA) and an SAT score. Wheeler states “we at RecruitedForCollege.com believe that students can use the tools we’ve built to extend their college application beyond its numerical limits. There are approximately 16 million high school students in the U.S., we want them to be seen as more than just a number.” RecruitedForCollege.com is a website designed to supplement thec ollege admissions process. The site’s motto “Be more” is an a propos way of putting it.

Students use the site for many valuable profile-building features, including uploading work history, club activities, community service, experiences, sports teams, and notable accolades. In addition to college profiles, students may also share course related material in online classrooms, ask questions, and assist others students.

Teachers can sign up, create online classrooms, and upload course related material. Additionally, teachers can also interact with students online, cultivating an efficient learning environment. Wheeler notes that “by introducing software that empowers teachers to interact with students in an effective manner, we increase college acceptances, increase AP exam pass rates, decrease college attrition rates, and improve the overall quality of education”. RecruitedForCollege.com is completely free for teachers and students, so any classroom, anywhere in the world, can use this service.

RecruitedForCollege.com also aggregates students’ data for them (not contact info), and presents it to colleges. CMO Daniel Eshaghian claims “the profile structure allows colleges to see the student behind the number.” When a student uploads his/her profile information, colleges are able to see that information in a logical, yet personalized format. “There is a data-disconnect between students and colleges, we want to close the gap” says Wheeler.

Creating a profile for colleges has typically been an exhausting and redundant process, RecruitedForCollege.com has made it incredibly easy to enjoy a wide variety of college profile essentials. It’s easy to sign up, easy to use, and it’s tools are invaluable.
