The Santa Barbara International Film Festival announces a Call for Entries for its third annual Acquisitions Weekend; it was announced today by SBIFF Executive Director Roger Durling. The weekend long event runs in association with LA-based production and sales company Traction Media and gives buyers direct and priority access to the selection of available films at SBIFF. The program will run during the first weekend of the festival, January 31- February 2, 2014.

“Since it began three years ago, the Acquisitions Program has grown significantly,” said Doug Stone President of the SBIFF Board and a principal of Traction Media. “This is due to SBIFF’s ongoing mission to bring forth independent films and their filmmakers towards possible distribution. A number of films from last year’s Acquisitions Program went on to receive distribution following the festival, such as Somm, Greencard Warriors (formerly known as Crosstown), A Year in Burgundy, Sex After Kids, Angels in Exile and 2013 Audience Choice winner, Spinning Plates, to name a few. We are looking forward to all the Acquisitions Weekend will offer this year.”

Films will be accepted until the drop deadline on December 13. All films can be submitted through withoutabox.com. Log onto www.sbfilmfestival.org for more information.
