Jeffrey Stevens

UCSB police arrested Jeffrey Stevens, 26, on Thursday morning for allegedly burglarizing two university buildings — Cheadle Hall and San Clemente Residence Hall — over the last two weeks. Stevens was arrested outside of the McDonald’s in Camino Real Marketplace, a place that a tipster told police Stevens usually hangs out, and was discovered with some of the stolen items. Some of the items that Stevens allegedly stole include laptop computers, money, and keys, said Sgt. Rob Romero of the UCSB Police. Romero added that Stevens is not and never has been a UCSB student but is known to visit Isla Vista often. Stevens is also suspected to be behind other recent thefts, including car theft. He was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail at $20,000 bail.
