Detectives with the Santa Barbara Police Department’s Youth Services Section have arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile allegedly responsible for what authorities called a gang-related stabbing Monday afternoon at the intersection of State and Canon Perdido streets. The victim — a 17-year-old male — was taken to Cottage Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“Two other male juveniles involved in the incident, ages 15 and 16, also of Santa Barbara, were arrested for battery, fighting in public, and violation of probation,” according to Sgt. Riley Harwood in a statement. All three suspects were booked into Santa Barbara County Juvenile Hall. Harwood credited witness statements with helping authorities track down the three. They have all been booked into Santa Barbara County Juvenile Hall.

“This investigation is still continuing and additional details are being withheld,” said Harwood. Anyone with more information is asked to contact Detective Ben Ahrens at 897-2348 or bahrens@sbpd.com.
