Saturday (March 9) is a multi-sports day at UCSB, but one ticket will be good for admission to all of the games that day. The Gaucho basketball teams will close out the regular season, the women taking on UC Irvine at 2 p.m., the men facing UC Riverside at 7 p.m. Both UCSB teams are trying to elevate their seedings in next week’s Big West Tournament.

Thirty Special Olympics basketball teams will compete Sunday in the 13th annual Regional Tournament at UCSB’s Thunderdome.

Santa Barbara High and Providence Hall have advanced to the second round of the State CIF girls basketball championships. Both will be on the road Saturday night, the Dons at Chaminade in West Hills and Providence Hall at Horizon Christian in San Diego.

Westmont College’s basketball teams received bids to the NAIA Division 1 national championship tournaments. The Warrior men are seeded No. 11 and will open against Marin Methodist (Tennessee) on Wednesday, March 13, at Kansas City.
