SPIN CITY: This summer, the ADaPT Festival will bring more than 40 artists and dance companies from around the U.S. to Santa Barbara, including the California- and Connecticut-based Megill & Company (pictured above).

After a year in Vienna, the ADaPT Festival is returning to Santa Barbara for 2013 and bringing with it multiple days of dance and physical theater. In addition to performances from more than 40 artists and companies, the event will include preshow social dances, a site-specific program, master classes, and an artists’ brunch. In keeping with ADaPT’s main goal of uniting emerging genres and artists worldwide, the festival will also have showings in New York and Pasadena, where additional dancers and companies will converge to share ideas and stage performances. If you’re a modern dancer, or simply interested in connecting with forward-thinking artists, this is a weekend you’re not going to want to miss. Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27. Call (805) 963-0408 or visit adaptfest.com.
