Weekly meeting of really old geezers, in a local place that has free coffee refills:

Old business: A discussion of last week’s obituaries. Note: Bring a new geezer to the next Saturday coffee clatch.

New business: Moses (I told you we were old) brings in the front page of the 5/24/13 Santa Barbara weekly The Sentinel. Major item: The hotel El Encanto now features Diane von Furstenberg Water.

The following discussion ensues:

1. How did the Santa Barbara Independent miss this?

2. Is Diane relate to Arthur Von Weisenberger, consort to Wendy McCaw, owner of the Santa Barbara News-Press?

3. Where did this “special water” originate? Not the Rhine River, I hope. (“Hans, is that a Michelin tire in the river?”)

4. Why did it take the Orient Express years to get the funding to upgrade its new hotel property? Shades of the lovely Miramar.
