Summer Sale & Fourth of July Recipe
SUMMER SALE: It’s Friday night and the Picky family heads out to El Capitan Beach for a picnic. As the usual suspects arrive, I see Mr Picky’s left eyebrow raise in disapproval. I notice they are sporting plastic glasses and cheap wine — this could get ugly. Have they learned nothing from us? Luckily we have a box of the new Mr. & Mrs. Picky All Purpose wine glasses in the car. They are super sturdy and dishwasher friendly. As we set them out, everyone starts toasting and the party lights up, whew! Gluten-free Chocolate Cake: It’s Sunday morning and Mr. Picky is still sleeping. A certain someone may have been on a roll last night. Maybe I’ll whip up a sneaky gluten-free chocolate cake disguised as a decadent Sunday morning treat. After dinner last night I have to keep my Weight Watchers points low, my weigh-in is Wednesday. Let’s see, it also has to be gluten, dairy and sugar free AND please the Mr. Picky palate. If I add blueberries and raspberries and sprinkle with a bit of “powdered sugar” (Xylitol) I can make it again for Fourth of July. Enjoy my 4th of July Chocolate Elegance Cake today!
