I was pleased to see the photo of two of our employees, Victor Honma and LeWanda Croft, in the most recent edition of the Independent. [“Crack-of-Dawn Homeless Count,” pg. 10, 1/24/13.] Unfortunately, they were identified as employees of the Santa Barbara Housing Authority, rather than the Housing Authority of the County of Santa Barbara.
As you may recall, a similar error was made in a 2012 Independent article concerning the Lompoc Housing and Community Development Corporation, wherein our 70-year track record, expertise, and financial resources were incorrectly attributed to the City of Santa Barbara Housing Authority. At least you are consistent!
Fred Lamont is the executive director of the Housing Authority of the County of Santa Barbara

Dude, the caption "Santa Barbara Housing Authority" is ambiguous about whether referring to the city or the county. So it is not incorrect as a reference to your agency.

Some confusion may arise from the incorrect use of the word "Authority." You could call one organization the Santa Barbara Housing Scheme, and the other one the Santa Barbara Housing Scam.
