As of January 1, the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) has been renamed the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), and game wardens, the department’s law enforcement staff, are now called wildlife officers. The changes were part of AB2402 signed into law this September by Gov. Jerry Brown, and the new titles “better reflect our evolving responsibilities,” said Charlton H. Bonham, department director. Fish and Wildlife’s new web address is wildlife.ca.gov.
