The smoke you see rising above Summerland and Carpinteria this morning is not a wildfire, according to Santa Barbara County Fire officials.
It’s a controlled burn and water is on site, they said, explaining that while today is expected to warm up, the morning’s relative humidity made it appropriate for the activity.
There are other burns scheduled as well.
