Peabody charter held its first lottery on Wednesday morning for children who live within the elementary school’s attendance area. There is no waitlist for kindergarten classes, but as of now, families of children in every other grade will need to sweat out the final attendance numbers. Third grade spots will be the hardest to come by as sixteen kids are already on the waitlist. School officials order the list by pulling slips of paper out of a bucket. Children of employees get first priority followed by those with siblings already at the school.
