The Santa Barbara Foundation Lompoc Affiliate and the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor’s Bureau have partnered to provide a window display contest for Lompoc Valley businesses. This wonderful opportunity celebrates the spirit of Lompoc while capturing the attention of locals and visitors alike. With the theme “I Love Lompoc,” retailers and service providers are encouraged to decorate their storefronts to reflect the community pride we all feel for the city of Lompoc.

Each window will be judged on its use of theme, overall appearance, attractiveness, and use of color. The merchants will vie for the “People’s Choice” award, voted on by the community-at-large, and an “I Love Lompoc” judges award, determined by a local panel of community members. All contest winners will be given stickers to be placed in their store windows and the judged contest winners will have an opportunity to designate a charitable contribution provided by the Lompoc Affiliate of the Santa Barbara Foundation to a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit of their choice.

All retailers and service providers, whether chamber members or not, are invited to participate in the contest. Businesses have until August 28, 2013 to register and window displays will be available for viewing and judging by the community from September 21-28, 2013. For participation in the community vote, beginning on September 18, 2013, maps and ballots may be picked up at the chamber office or online at http://lompoc.chambermaster.com/news/details/i-love-lompoc-window-display-competition.

An awards reception for all participating merchants is planned for October 3, 2013, during which the awards will be presented among much anticipation and enjoyment.

This festive contest is sure to become a yearly tradition!
