Mesa Steps Under Construction

The Mesa Lane beach access point will be closed for the rest of the month, as construction began Monday to demolish part of the wooden staircase and replace it with a new stainless steel and concrete flight of stairs. The new steps have been designed to withstand both sea level increases and 50-year-storm events. During construction, there will be no public access to the beach from Mesa Lane, although Arroyo Burro Beach Park, Thousand Steps, Shoreline Park, and Leadbetter Beach will remain open.
