The event will raise funds and awareness to support the children in our community. Breakfast will be complimentary but donations will be encouraged. First District Supervisor, Salud Carbajal will emcee the event and our guest speaker, world champion surfer, Shaun Tomson will share insights into “The Surfer’s Code”. Breakfast will take place at the Boys & Girls Club on 632 East Canon Perdido St.

Salud Carbajal has been elected twice to the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors and has devoted his efforts to “protecting our natural environment and resources, enhancing public safety, and working regionally to address our transportation, housing, and workforce challenge.” Mr. Carbajal has received numerous honors including receiving Public Official of the Year (Area Agency on Aging) and being acclaimed as the Community Role Model (Women’s Economic Ventures). Although Mr. Carbajal is involved with countless governmental and non-governmental organizations, he always finds the time to be a good family man to his wife and two children. Mr. Carbajal grew up in a Boys & Girls Club and will give firsthand anecdotes about his time as a Club member.

Guest Speaker, Shaun Tomson has been successfully involved in projects ranging from managing two clothing brands, writing the book, Surfer’s Code and producing the documentary film, Bustin’ Down the Door. Mr. Tomson has been described as one of the greatest surfers of all time (Surfing Magazine 2004) and one of the most influential surfers of the century (Surfer Magazine 1999). He is also a motivational speaker and business consultant for some of the world’s largest corporations including GM, Cisco, Disney and Price Waterhouse but above all, a loving father and husband.
