Every year, Santa and his clan make a pre-Christmas stop in Santa Barbara to stroll down State Street as part of the Downtown Organization’s Annual Holiday Parade. And for the past 59 years, the event has gone off without a hitch, thanks in no small part to community volunteers who help with crowd control and parade flow. It’s the parade’s Diamond Anniversary this year and there are still plenty of spots left for those who wish to help with the celebration. Interested folks need to attend a 30-minute volunteer training, Tuesday, November 27, at 5:30 p.m., at 27 De la Guerra Plaza. For more information about volunteering, contact Georgette at 962-2098 or gfriedman@sbdo.org. For more on the parade, visit santabarbaradowntown.com/about/downtown-holiday-parade.
