The Santa Barbara Junior High School special education teacher who went missing October 27 was found living in the Bay Area, a Santa Barbara police spokesperson said Friday morning.

Craig Rudholm, 58, was located by police officers in Livermore on Tuesday, and it appears he traveled there voluntarily, authorities said.

The case has been closed, and officials aren’t considering Rudholm’s disappearance suspicious. Two weeks ago an SBPD spokesperson issued a statement that read: “There is no indication of foul play at this time, and Rudholm appears to be voluntarily missing.”

School district representatives couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. A substitute teacher has been filling in for Rudholm at S.B. Junior High, which has four full-time special education teaching positions.
