Authorities throughout the county arrested 154 people for alleged DUI from 12/6 to 1/1 — one more arrest than during the same period last year. There were 21 alcohol-related traffic collisions, four of which resulted in injuries. The arrests came as a result of increased patrolling, sobriety checkpoints, and other stings set up for the holiday season. The Santa Barbara Police Department made 32 of the arrests, while the CHP in the Santa Barbara area arrested 44 people.
