The Environmental Defense Center (EDC) has hired Owen Bailey as its new executive director, the nonprofit law firm announced this week. Bailey comes with nearly 10 years of experience doing community and media outreach for the Sierra Club, as well as grassroots organizing, later managing the club’s donor program. He also held staff positions on the senatorial campaigns of Barbara Boxer and Ned Lamont. “I’ve worked closely with Owen and know his ability to inspire and raise awareness about important environmental issues,” said Linda Krop, EDC’s chief counsel. “He is the right person to build upon David Landecker’s successes, engaging supporters for our work and providing leadership in EDC’s advocacy for the local environment.”
