Santa Barbara’s premier new medical facility, the first of its type in more than two decades, signals a resurgence of confidence in the economy as physicians invest in this state-of-the-art facility. “This construction will bring new jobs to the community in the form of tradesmen from all crafts, and when the building is finished the new facilities offer the opportunity for new employment,” says one of the physician-owners, plastic surgeon, Howard Gross, M.D., of The Art of Plastic Surgery.

Located in the State Street Medical Corridor, “Surgical Arts on State” will feature two of Santa Barbara’s finest plastic surgery practices, a dermatology practice that specializes in surgical treatment of skin cancer as well as cosmetic treatments, a Medicare-certified surgery center, and a world-class fertility center and lab.

Mark Surrey, M.D. Medical Director and Founder of Southern California Reproductive Center said “We are thrilled to be able to offer the finest technology in the world to Santa Barbara and the Central Coast. We have been part of the Santa Barbara community for the past 20 years and are proud to have helped people here experience the joy of becoming parents through the technology available in Beverly Hills. Now, for the first time ever, Santa Barbara and the Central Coast will have this same outstanding technology here at home. Our Center and Embryology Lab will offer a level of technology and care that is unmatched in the area.”

Together, the practices in “Surgical Arts on State” will offer a Wellness Center for women, as well as serving needs for all areas of the community. This project demonstrates great confidence in the economic recovery because the medical suites are all physician-owned and designed. The design of each suite will reflect the personality of the physician and practice, and demand for space has left only one office remaining for a physician.

Available for interview at tomorrow’s ceremony will be Santa Barbara public officials, and others who have long supported this project for the positive impact it will have on the city. The physician-owners and the building architects of “Surgical Arts on State” will also be in attendance and available for interview:
