MARRYING IN THE RAIN: Last Friday, on 11/11/11, longtime Santa Barbara Independent news reporter Ethan Stewart took the hand of architect Anna Jensen in marriage on the shores of El Capitán State Beach, with ceremonial orange flags, requisite “Huzzah!” placards, and Danger Dog on ring delivery. Then, without much further ado, a monumental rain-soaked rager ensued. “It was the wet and wild rumpus of our dreams, with nearly 300 of our favorite people in the universe, plus rain, mud, and even a little bit of hail, on the great Gaviota,” said Stewart, whose Cape Cod crew came in force to meet the Jensen family’s Montana masses. “Paradise at last. I am a truly lucky man.” Now, if we could finally get that mud out of our ears.
