Are You What You Eat? Farm to Fork Tour Will Bus Passengers to South County Farms for Hands-On Lesson in Area Agriculture
Enjoy your food—but learn about it first. On this week’s Farm to Fork Tour, hosted by the S.B. County Ag Futures Alliance, curious culinary connoisseurs can take a fascinating and educational bus tour of three South County farms. While touring the region and stopping at Las Varas Ranch in Gaviota, Givens Organic Farm in Goleta, and Farmers’ West Flowers and Bouquets in Carpinteria, participants will learn about regional agriculture, S.B.’s farming and food systems operations, the status of the county’s ag industry, environmental and social concerns of food cultivation, and much more. The tour bus picks up passengers at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, at Home Depot (6975 Marketplace Dr., Goleta), and drops off at the same location at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $30; must preregister.
