This week, California’s 47th Lt. Governor Abel Maldonado filed the required paperwork to open a campaign committee to seek congressional office in 2012.

“It has been my honor to serve the people of the central coast as a City Councilmember, Mayor, Assemblyman, State Senator and California’s 47th Lt. Governor,” said the Santa Maria farmer and businessman. “I have proven track record of being independent, bi-partisan, fiscally responsible and a problem solver.

I plan on providing that governing style to our nation’s capitol on behalf all the people of the Central Coast.”

In addition to being a farmer and businessman, Maldonado is an instrument rated multi-engine pilot. Abel Maldonado is the oldest son of immigrant field workers. He was born and raised on the Central Coast and settled in Santa Maria where he and his wife, Laura are raising their four beautiful children Erika, Nicolas, Marcus, and Dino.
