Petrini’s is once again serving traditional Italian food to the City of Goleta after a 16-year hiatus. In celebration of its reopening, the restaurant is inviting customers to contribute to the menu, with its Italian Recipe Challenge.

Here’s how it works.

Any particularly proud creator of a pasta or pizza dish can submit his or her recipe to Petrini’s by February 25, along with a written tidbit about themselves. On March 2, at six in the evening, restaurant-goers and three local judges will vote on the final four picks. The opinions of customers and judges will be equally weighted.

Of the four finalists, the three runners-up will win a $50 certificate. For the next year, the winning recipe will be named after its creator, who gets to enjoy the dish at Petrini’s free of charge for that year.

Participants can deliver recipes with their name, address, phone number, and email to Petrini’s, 5711 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117, or 14 West Calle Laureles, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. They can also email them to joe@petrinis.com.
