The Second City improv comedy group has been churning out hilarity since its inception in 1959. Originating in Chicago, The Second City is the longest running improv school, and its impressive alumni roster includes Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mike Myers, and Jane Lynch to name just a few of the famous entertainers who got their start there. Now, The Second City has schools in Toronto and Los Angeles as well as a touring group that brings the laughs to regional theaters. Santa Barbarans get their chance to chuckle when the troupe stops in town on the Fair & Unbalanced tour. The show is a fast-paced revue that features scenes, songs, and improvisation satirizing slices of life of current-day America. Check it out Thursday, February 24, at 8 p.m. at UCSB’s Campbell Hall.
