Press Release

The Santa Barbara Channels invites all South Coast residents to express their love for that special-someone and for public access television. Channels’ Video Valentine program is a fundraiser benefiting the media access center that serves Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Carpinteria.

In exchange for a donation of $25, Channels professional staff will record a Valentine greeting that will be aired on Channel 17 and posted online. Donors will also receive their own DVD.

“This is a unique gift that will please a spouse, sweetheart, family member, or friend,” said Candi Corbani, chair of Channels’ Board of Directors. “People can even bring a small pet to be in the video with them!”

Members of military families are invited to make a Video Valentine free of charge. “Santa Barbara Channels wants to support families who have loved ones serving oversees. We encourage children to participate in this special project,” said Keri Stokstad, Channels’ Executive Director.

Video Valentines will be recorded on Saturday, February 12, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Channels studios, 7000 Hollister Avenue, in Goleta. Reservations can be made by calling (805) 571-1721, but walk-ins will be accommodated.
