Rev. Laura L. Mancuso, MS, CRC, Spiritual Care Counselor for Hospice of Santa Barbara

Hospice of Santa Barbara, Inc. is proud to announce Rev. Laura L. Manscuso, MS, CRC, as its new Spiritual Care Counselor. As the leader of Hospice of Santa Barbara’s new Spiritual Care Program, Rev. Mancuso will address the spiritual needs of Hospice of Santa Barbara patients at the Community Palliative Care Clinic.

Rev. Mancuso has significant experience working in social services and spiritual care. For 13 years, Rev. Mancuso served as a Project Manager for Santa Barbara County Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services, leading many workshops, and directing large scale projects. In recent years, Rev. Mancuso has been increasingly drawn to spiritual work, including training as a chaplain and gaining 200 hours of practicum work in spiritual care at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Rev. Mancuso received her Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, a Master’s degree from Boston University’s Sargent College of Allied Health Professions, a Master of Divinity degree from the Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago, Ill., and was ordained as an interfaith minister by the Congregation for Creative and Healing Ministries by the Chaplaincy Institute for Arts & Interfaith Ministries in Berkeley, Calif.

Rev. Susan Copeland, MDiv, MA, Spiritual Care Counselor for Hospice of Santa Barbara

Hospice of Santa Barbara, Inc. is proud to announce Rev. Susan Copeland, MDiv, MA, as its new Spiritual Care Counselor. As a member of Hospice of Santa Barbara’s new Spiritual Care Program, Copeland will address the spiritual needs of Hospice of Santa Barbara patients at the Community Palliative Care Clinic.

Copeland is a board certified chaplain, and has significant experience working in direct patient care. Copeland served as the Director of the Department of Spiritual Care for Cottage Health System for over 10 years, and she has consulted with the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara, Vista del Monte Retirement Community, Parents of Children with Cancer (support group) and several other local organizations and congregations. Copeland is also a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and a certified healing touch practitioner.

Copeland received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and she received her clinical pastoral education from St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard. She received her board certification as a chaplain from the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Sharon Vineall, LCSW, Care Management Supervisor for Hospice of Santa Barbara

Hospice of Santa Barbara, Inc. is proud to announce Sharon Vineall, LCSW, as its new Care Management Supervisor for the Palliative Care and the Care Management teams at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Vineall has extensive experience as a medical social worker. She has worked as a social worker for nearly 15 years. She most currently served as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for American Indian Health & Services providing psychotherapy and counseling services to adults, children and families. Prior to that, she worked as a Social Worker for Hospice of Santa Barbara, and served as a Clinical Social Worker for Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Vineall received her Bachelor’s degree and her Master of Social Work degree from California State University, Fresno.
