The five new county supervisorial districts were approved by the members of the board on 8/9, with no change from 1st District Supervisor Salud Carbajal’s submitted map last week. The vote on the map, which keeps UCSB and Isla Vista in the 3rd District, keeps Lompoc whole, and moves Guadalupe into the 3rd District and Cuyama into the 1st, was split 3-2, with the two North County supervisors, Steve Lavagnino and Joni Gray, dissenting. The politically charged process happens every 10 years.
