Entrepreneur, Author, and Motivational Teacher James Thomas Sr. is beginning a mission that he believes will help re-direct the energies of our nation’s youth, young adults and hurting men and women. Mr. Thomas is taking his personal experiences and the experiences of other prominent individuals and creating the “Expect to Win Conference 2011”. The conference kicks off on Saturday April 9, 2011 at the Best Western Pepper Tree Inn, 3850 State Street in Santa Barbara, Ca. and will be conducted in the form of a one day meeting with 2 sessions and a panel discussion, from 9 am to 5 pm. “The best way to describe “The Expect to Win Conference” is to say it is part church and all motivational” says Mr. Thomas. My goal and the goal of the other speakers is to teach attendees, among other things, why you are expected to win in life, how to pick yourself up after losing everything, how you can overcome domestic violence and abuse, why daughters need dads too and much more.

Joining Mr. Thomas at the Santa Barbara Conference is Criminal Attorney and Minister Monique Woodert and Actress and one of the top African American female stunt women in America, April Weeden Washington.

“I believe we have allowed the need to be “politically correct” to cloud our judgment in teaching our young peoples how to become productive citizens and in the process people have lost hope in themselves and in God”. It is time to get back to the basics and that’s what I want to do with this conference” says Thomas. “I was born and raised in Los Angeles and spent my teenage years living in South Central L.A. I totally understand the need for a conference like this and the impact it will make on the lives of all involved”.

Mr. Thomas is an Entrepreneur, Author, Filmmaker and Motivational Teacher. He currently teaches biblical principles for everyday living every Friday morning at Academy Cathedral in Inglewood. He is the author of three books, “Five Minutes of Motivation”, “Five Steps to Starting Your Own Business”, and “The Incredible History of the Academy Theater”. His debut film, “True Riches” – The Modern Day Story of The Book of JOB will debut on DVD this summer, and he is the President & CEO of BEM Media Group, Inc. a multi-media company. In addition, he is the President of the Men’s Ministry at Academy Cathedral.

He has been privileged to have traveled as a speaker across the country and even abroad to the Bahamas. He has worked as a developer for the city of Inglewood assigned to the “Inglewood Family Bloods Gang”, and is the Founder of The Building Successful Men Program, which holds an annual conference and is designed to recognize the positive contributions of men to society and to encourage young men to reach for their goals”. The organization has honored Aundre Russell from KJLH, Pastor Lewis Logan, Pastor Doyle Hart, Nation of Islam leader Minister Tony Mohammed, and The Cease Fire Committee for their continued dedication to our communities.
