A jury has still not been selected in the trial of four defendants—Ruben Mize, Bryan Medinilla, Raul Diaz, and Ricardo Nava Jr.— who are each facing murder charges in the death of Lorenzo Carachure in 2007, along with charges of attempted murder and a charge of being in a criminal street gang at the time of the San Pascual street stabbing. The process has been slow, as dozens of county residents have been passed over, some expressing time constraints, others expressing fear considering the subject matter. The trial is expected to last six weeks in front of Judge Clifford Anderson.
