The trial of James Biela, the man accused of killing Santa Barbara City College student Brianna Denison, is underway in Reno, Nevada. Denison’s body was found in a field a month after she went missing in early 2008. She had been home in Reno for winter break and had spent the night at a friend’s house when she went missing. Biela, who also faces charges related to another sexual assault, could face the death penalty if convicted.
