Come on, admit it: you sing in the shower, you dance in the kitchen, and you’ve been known to vamp it up on karaoke night. The truth is, you’re a closet rock star, and the time has come to make your passion public. During the month of April, New York choreographer Larry Keigwin will hold a residency at the Lobero. In addition to rehearsing with his professional company, he’ll be working with up to 70 Santa Barbara community members to create Bolero Santa Barbara, which will be performed on Friday, April 23, and Saturday, April 24. Keigwin is hoping to attract a cross-section of the city—from surfers to therapists to real estate agents—and no dance experience is necessary. The first meeting is Monday, March 29, 5-8 p.m. at the Lobero Theatre (33 E. Canon Perdido St.). To learn more, call 966-4946 or visit sbdanceworks.com.
