OUR SOLSTICEMAN: One of the first things that The Independent’s Robby Robbins did when he moved here from North Carolina was get the office involved in the Summer Solstice parade, and now in his fourth Solstice and a boardmember with the Solstice organization, he’s with the “Alice in Summerland” crew. “I’m the Mad Hatter,” laughed Robbins, who’ll be donning a 12-foot costume that blends Johnny Depp’s big-screen version with the simpler line drawings of yesteryear. “I look like a NASCAR freak,” he said of the checkerboard outfit. “I can actually bow to the queen, but if I fall over, I’ll be like a turtle.”
