About an hour in to listening to the new morning show on KJEE, I was pretty let down [“KJEE Morning Show Signs Off,” 1/7/10]. I found out this was the Kevin and Bean show on KROQ, piped in from Los Angeles. The Kevin and Bean morning show has nothing to do with what is going on in Santa Barbara. I think that’s a pretty poor maneuver, for the management of KJEE to shitcan the most popular morning show from Rincon to Gaviota. Spencer and Adam kept this town alive with their entertainment, such as The Morning Show Game Show, Bum vs. Bird, Adam interviewing politicians and celebrities in his unique way—and don’t forget The Walk of Shame! Just to name a few! I have been listening to The Morning Show since Brad and DM were the hosts and through every change it has been different, but this is unacceptable. If I want to hear about what is going on in L.A. I will tune in to an L.A. station, but this is Santa Barbara. Why can’t we keep it local? — Jason Hoag

Spencer and Adam have moved to other endeavors. They had a chemistry that just can’t be replaced. However, I tried to give the new morning show another chance, and it’s just lame. First of all, in 20 minutes they played one song. Talk, talk, talk. That’s all they did.

Second, the topic they were yakking about this morning—how many different girls guys had slept with—made my 13-year-old son sick and was totally inappropriate, so much so that I changed the station. Way to go, guys! Setting a good example for all those young teenage boys out there! Have you ever stopped to think that maybe someday you might have a daughter, that she’ll be the apple of your eye, and some pig is out there just trying to get into her pants so he can add a notch to his belt? Then how will you feel?

I will not listen to the KJEE morning show anymore. The new deejays are broadcasting a syndicated show from Los Angeles! Syndicated! I thought we wanted to keep Santa Barbara unique, not turn it into a Los Angeles clone. — Kathy Poulos Gregory
