According to the Associated Press, Vandell Snow, prominent Santa Barbara veterinarian and part-owner of horse-breeding facility Santa Ynez Farm, was killed on 4/8 when an experimental plane he was flying crashed near San Diego. Snow, 58, was reportedly practicing for an aerobatic flying contest at the Borrego Springs Airport when the steering device in his two-seat plane, which he had built himself, broke, causing the plane to nosedive. The FAA is investigating the incident.
