If you prefer eating organic fruits and veggies but battling the crowds at Farmers Market keeps you away, you’re in luck. Two S.B. companies, Local Harvest Delivery and Plow to Porch Organics, will deliver fresh, pesticide-free fare from said market to your front door.

Santa Barbarans Julie Beaumont and Sarah Coffman, owners of Local Harvest Delivery, decided to make organic, county-grown produce easy to get because they believe that “if more people eat locally grown, nutritious food and practice a healthy lifestyle, this will increase the health and well-being of the individual, the family, the farmer, the environment, and the community.” Theirs is an environmentally friendly enterprise-they print on recycled paper, reuse their boxes, and recycle everything they can.

Plow to Porch Organics is run by Pam Plesons and her family with the intent to “simplify the purchase of local, fresh, organic produce, and other organic, local foods in order to inspire good nutrition, support local farmers, protect our environment, and make eating healthy foods fun.” With each delivered box, Plow to Porch also includes tips and recipes for your produce.

Both companies deliver boxes of seasonal produce to your door based on your specifications of quantity and preference. Along with the fresh fruits and vegetables, which are delivered within 24 hours of harvest, there is a selection of other area favorites such as coffee, pies, honey, olive oil, bread, and eggs. Local Harvest Delivery delivers to Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, and Summerland, and Plow to Porch Organics covers those areas as well as Solvang, Santa Ynez, and Buellton.
