With Thanksgiving just around the corner, nonprofits are looking for ways to fund the good they like to do. The Organic Soup Kitchen—which plans to feed more than 300 financially challenged people on the big day at the Veterans Memorial Building (112 W. Cabrillo Blvd.) from noon-5 p.m.—is holding a fundraiser at Yoga Soup (28 Parker Wy., yogasoup.com) on Saturday, November 7, from 2-6 p.m., to do just that. The afternoon, supervised by Chef Anthony Carroccio, will feature live music, wines provided by Oreana Winery, and food by Lazy Acres, Whole Foods, and area restaurants. The Organic Soup Kitchen believes that every person, regardless of financial status, should not compromise the quality of food they feed their family or children. Call 886-7427.
