Santa Barbara police are calling two attacks on the eastside of the city this afternoon unprovoked assaults that may be related.
One victim, who was riding his bicycle near the intersection of Carpinteria and Soledad streets just before 4 p.m., was struck in the head with some sort of object or stick by a person leaning out of a vehicle, and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Cottage Hospital, according to Sgt. Marty Ensign at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday. His condition was initially thought to be more severe, but according to Ensign, the victim is currently in stable condition.
Within 10 minutes of that attack, two other victims were walking along Bond Avenue near Milpas when a car approached and someone from the car leaned out and struck one of the victims in the forehead, according to police. The second victim reported being struck in the leg. Neither are seriously injured.
The two incidents — not the result of fights — might be related, and might be gang-related, Ensign said, but police couldn’t say conclusively that was the case. There are currently no suspects, but authorities are possibly looking for a white, foreign vehicle.
Ensign did not know the ages or names of the victims, but said the victim in the first attack was an adult male.

Please I know more about this kind of stuff than you, so save me what you are talking about. If you play, you pay. If you run with the boys there are consequences on all sides. As long as people who don't play this stuff aren't hurt that is what matters to me. If you are involved in that type of stuff then man up.

AZ2SB, what makes you think you know more than others?
And do you know these victims were players?
If you do, then maybe you have some inside info? How?

I live in the area near Milpas and Canon Perdido. I walk my dog a lot in the evening (especially now that the days are shorter). This doesn't make me feel very comfortable. I don't "look" like a gangster, but that doesn't make me feel any better.

Yes, I lived the crazy life and suffered the consequences from choosing to live it. I am willing to bet money that these victims do not dress or act nothing like my2cents above. How many victims go to a barbershop to get first-aid and leave before the police get there? The other guy didn't leave because he was too hurt to get up. Look I am not saying its right, but it is what it is. I don't believe anybody should be getting beat on the streets, but if it happens it should at least happen to the people who play the game not people like my2cents who are out walking their dog.
