Any cookbook that kicks off with a caramelized fig and goat cheese tart and finishes with a flourless chocolate cake with banana ice cream is going to have to be good, but this isn’t just any cookbook. This is Autumn, the third in Pascale Beale-Groom’s A Menu for All Seasons series, and it’s available now at area bookstores and from Groom’s Web site, mckcuisine.com.
For more than a decade, she has run Mediterranean cooking school Montecito Country Kitchen, and all those years of full-menu classes have helped form the backbone of these delicious cookbooks that teach us how to cook seasonally and from our Farmers Market. As with the rest of the series, Groom provides a cooking schedule, too, so you can pull off the whole thing with ease. If you’d like to meet the author and learn more of her intriguing English-French background, she will be doing numerous author events, including a book-signing at the Book Den (11 E. Anapamu St.) on Saturday, October 24, from 2-4 p.m. as part of epicure.sb.
