Backyard Composting Workshop
Everything You Wanted to Know About Recycling Waste
Did you know that as much as 50 percent of the things you throw away at home can be composted? And did you know that composting is part of S.B. County’s long-term waste management strategy? As such, a workshop is being held for those who want to learn about backyard composting. What composting is, how it happens, different methods of composting, what materials can be composted, and how to use finished compost are some of the topics that will be covered. The free workshop takes place Saturday, June 6, from 10-11:30 a.m., at Santa Barbara City College’s Lifescape Gardens (SBCC’s East Campus, overlooking Santa Barbara Harbor).
