    First Thursday Cancelled

    Downtown Event Nixed Due to Jesusita Fire

    As a result of complications from the Jesusita Fire, tonight’s scheduled First Thursday event in downtown Santa Barbara has been canceled. A statement from Jennifer Rose, operations director for the Downtown Organization said Wednesday’s widespread power outages and evacuations were factors contributing to this decision.

    Saturday event now postponed.

    The annual event by the Democratic Party (Roosevelt-Hamer Dinner), scheduled for Saturday at Earl Warren Showgrounds, has been postponed because the Showgrounds facility is the Jesusita Fire operations center.

    No new date yet known.
