A new feature on UCSB’s American Presidency Project Web site allows users to compare President Barack Obama’s first 100 days in office with the same time period of other modern presidents. The feature was added, according to founders John Woolley and Gerhard Peters, in response to public and media enthusiasm and curiosity surrounding Obama’s presidency. (/obama35)

Nobel Prize laureate and UCSB chemistry professor Alan Heeger delivered a public lecture 2/20 that discussed the development of low-cost “plastic” solar cells. The new technology, which Heeger and his colleagues pioneered, aims to make solar panels cheaper but more affordable. (/solar35)
